happy memorial day..

i hope everyone has a great vacation... thanks to all who came out yesterday for our Autism Awareness fundraiser... We had a blast.. and a gorgeous day a that!

i didn't get much sleep last night.. but i wouldn't trade it for the world

so last night we were swapping beds around.. dylan has now graduated into a full fledge bigboy bed.. no railings.. and marley now inherited the bed with the railings all the way around.. so last night.. d asked me "mere mommy lets read books"... so what book does he choose the 1982 version of 1000 questions and answers.. its like a science and history book all rolled into one.. so we are reading it finding bugs and all that we decide to lay on the bed... we got through all 325 pages.. and then he says "mommy come stay with me.. you BEF FREIN ME" how could i resist.. for a half hour.. he just lays looking up at me and thanks me for being his best friend.. i get a tear and he says "awww mommy u, k? i lu you".. I continue to just lay next to him and smell his stinky breath that as a mom you know you love every single little smell that reminds you of your baby... so i lay there.. eventually i fall asleep on top of a sponge bob doll..wake up around midnight my back is killing me.. mr. spongebobs foot was implanted in my back... i quietly get up and make it to my bed.. i just get comfy.. and i hear "bef frien where are you?? mommy you mah bef frien please come back" so i do.. and he wraps his arms around me and repeated "thank you" he falls back asleep.. this time drooling all down my neck..i lay there for a few more minutes not knowing the time.. by this time his grip breaks away from me and i try my escape again.. i made it to the couch so that i did not wake adam...i got 30min this time.. then i hear "silly bef frien please mere" so that where i end my task of trying to sleep.. i laid there next to him and just listened to the sweet sounds of his snoring mixed with his drool...

fast forward.. 7:15am... dylan wakes... i pretend i am sleeping.. he goes and wakes up everyone.. and i continue to lay in his bed which at this point is the most comfortable thing ever.. i am so tired that i turn into mush under his sponge bob blankets... i hear hustle and bustle throughout the house and i know i should be helping get everyone ready for school but i cannot move.. i try just not gonna happen.. 8:10 i hear adam head toward the bathroom to take his shower thats my call.. must get up and get the kids fed.. everyone was dressed and fed... and dylan runs up to me.. "mommy u wake...u the best mommy.. u mah bef frien thanks for sleeping me"

who would have thought that long night would have turned into something so meaningful to him.. and such a bonding experience for me...

now if you made it this far.. i am suprised.. but its something i want to remember so that why 2hrs later i am making sure i write this out word for word..bc it just makes my heart filled with so much love and affection.. something it seems i look over far to many times... maybe tonight it will be sierras turn to lay down next to her and smell her hair and just watch her sleep..

every mom and dad should atleast just watch their baby sleep 1x a week i think.. it will keep you grounded.

as a mommy.. u all must know my joy.. i must share

my lil man is officially potty trained.. 3days straight in big boys and he couldn't be happier! and I am just so proud of him.. but i do have to laugh.. he was waiting for the school bus this morning.. and had to go so bad he pulled his pants down and went on the neighbors house.. now im not condoning it.. but what a little smarty!

congrats mr. dylan mommy loves u and is so proud of you!

btw are u totally diggin his new rockstar status haircut!!
